In this role, you will partner with Operations and Plant Finance to ensure financial accuracy, strengthen controls, assist with compliance, and improve accounting processes across a multi-site manufacturing environment.**Why Silgan**At Silgan, we provide our employees with stability and growth opportunities:* Competitive pay with annual merit increases* Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance* 401(k) with a 6% dollar-for-dollar company match* Paid vacation, holidays, and tuition reimbursement* Long-term stability with opportunities for advancement and career growth in manufacturing jobs* A culture that values safety, innovation, and promoting from within**What You Will Do*** Manage manufacturing and operations accounting activities, including inventory, costing, fixed assets, leases, and general accounting processes* Partner with Operations and Plant Finance to evaluate financial results and identify trends.* Oversee month-end close activities, journal entries, account reconciliations, and review of financial performance to ensure accuracy and support business objectives* Maintain SOX compliance, internal control effectiveness, audit readiness, and public company reporting standards* Serve as a subject matter expert for JD Edwards (JDE) accounting processes and system controls* Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, FP&A, and Plant management to improve financial transparency and consistency* Coach, and develop accounting team members while promoting accountability and continuous improvement* Drive process improvements focused on accuracy, efficiency, standardization, and scalability**What You Bring*** Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field* Five or more years of progressive accounting experience in a manufacturing environment* Strong experience with inventory accounting, cost accounting, and financial reporting* Experience working within SOX-controlled or publicly traded company environments* Demonstrated management, coaching, or team development experience* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills* Experience with JD Edwards (JDE) or similar ERP systems**Who We Are**Silgan Containers is the largest producer of metal food packaging in North America.
