Posting Number Regular_0091642 Position Title College Events and Planning Manager Classification Title Events Manager Min Salary $62,988 Salary Type Annual FLSA E = Exempt Position Summary The Manager of College Events and Planning is responsible for coordinating and managing college-wide events, campus facility operations, and event-related logistics across Rowan-Cabarrus facilities. This position serves as the primary point of contact for facility usage, event scheduling, vendors, community partners, tenants, and college stakeholders to ensure a safe, welcoming, and professional environment. The Manager plans, coordinates, and executes institutional events and special programs that support the College’s mission and strategic priorities. The position also oversees facility requests, event scheduling systems, and building operations for designated College locations. In collaboration with executive leadership, the Manager develops project plans, manages event logistics, and ensures successful event execution. As a representative of the President’s Office and the College, this position requires exceptional professionalism, discretion, customer service, organizational skills, and the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The position reports to the Director of Marketing and Events and may provide support to the President’s Office as needed. Required Education/Experience Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and two (2) years of experience in event planning, project management, hospitality, promotions, facility management, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the responsibilities of the position. Preferred Education/Experience/Skills Experience planning and managing large-scale public events, ceremonies, and institutional functions. Experience coordinating facility operations, including building access, opening and closing procedures, tenant relations, vendor management, and event logistics. Experience with event management software and scheduling systems. Knowledge of emergency management, safety and security procedures, business continuity planning, and workplace health and safety requirements. Training or experience related to Title IX, student conduct, emergency response, and risk management. Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Plan, coordinate, and execute all annual institutional events, ceremonies, and special events for the College. Posting Date 08/21/2026 Open Until Filled Yes Duty and Responsibility Develop, monitor, and manage event budgets, ensuring effective use of resources and fiscal accountability. Duty and Responsibility Serve as the primary event project manager, providing leadership for event planning, implementation, logistics, and post-event assessment. Duty and Responsibility Coordinate Foundation-related events and serve as the project manager for fundraising, donor, and community engagement activities hosted by the Foundation. Duty and Responsibility Manage all internal and external facility use requests, ensuring compliance with college policies and procedures. Duty and Responsibility Serve as the backup administrative manager for the College’s event scheduling and space management system (25Live), maintaining accurate academic and event schedules. Duty and Responsibility Act as the primary emergency contact for the North Carolina Research Campus (NCRC) Building and the Carol S. Spalding Advanced Technology Building, coordinating with Facilities, Security, and other departments regarding maintenance, safety, and operational concerns Duty and Responsibility Build and maintain effective working relationships with vendors, tenants, community partners, and College departments to support successful event and facility operations. Duty and Responsibility Coordinate communications related to facility operations, event activities, building notifications, and tenant concerns. Duty and Responsibility Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations and maintain required certifications and documentation related to workplace health and safety. Duty and Responsibility Support executive leadership and the President’s Office with special projects, events, and other administrative responsibilities as assigned.
