Facility WorkerInstitution - South Dakota MinesWorking Title - Facility WorkerPhysical Location of Position (City) - Rapid CityPOSITION PURPOSE:Performs a variety of cleaning and maintenance procedures to ensure sanitary conditions are met. Duties will include maintaining hard surface floors, including sweeping, mopping, and refinishing; maintaining carpets, including vacuuming and shampooing; cleaning and maintaining buildings, including emptying waste baskets, dusting, upholstery cleaning, making minor repairs, and replacing light bulbs and tubes; cleaning and disinfecting restrooms; ground maintenance, including cleaning windows, trash collection, and snow removal; event set up and moving services; monitoring building safety and property; and other duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Knowledge of custodial and grounds maintenance duties; security procedures. Ability to follow oral and written directions; work outdoors in all types of weather conditions; operate required equipment, a variety of motorized vehicles, and hand and power tools; perform heavy lifting up to 50 lbs. or more, physical labor including pulling and pushing; establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships, interacting in a supportive manner with students, faculty, staff and the public; provide excellent customer service.COMMENTS:Work Hours are day shift with some variation.
