Make a meaningful impact supporting students across Southern Oregon as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI). This contract opportunity runs from December 7, 2026, through June 11, 2027, and is ideal for educators who are passionate about providing specialized instruction to K-12 learners. The position offers flexibility with 30–32 hours per week and options for in-person or virtual (VOCO) service delivery. You’ll collaborate with a dynamic network of professionals while serving diverse school districts in Jackson, Josephine, Douglas, Klamath, and Lake Counties.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Oregon state certification/licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience working with students who are blind or visually impaired, especially in K-12 settings
- Strong knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive educational materials
- Ability to assess student needs and tailor instruction accordingly
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with students, families, and educational teams
- Proficiency delivering both in-person and virtual instruction
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and adapt curricula to meet the individual needs of visually impaired students across multiple grade levels
- Conduct ongoing assessments and maintain accurate documentation of student progress
- Provide consultation to general and special education staff on strategies and accommodations for visually impaired students
- Collaborate with families, orientation & mobility specialists, and related service providers
- Advocate for access to resources and support for students in a variety of educational settings
