Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years in a related specialty License: Active Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Experience with renal transplant, peritoneal dialysis catheters, hemodialysis, drains, total parenteral nutrition, wound care, diabetes encephalopathy, acute renal rejection, and thymo administration - Ability to manage patients with ratios of 1:5, with potential flexibility to 1:6 - Knowledge of cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and endocrine/metabolic protocols - Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and medication management - Competency in respiratory care and wound management Description: We are seeking a registered nurse for our progressive care unit. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing patients with complex renal issues. You will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care and monitoring patients’ conditions. This role will require knowledge of various procedures, including pre/post hemodialysis management. The candidate must be able to perform tasks such as accessing ports and managing central and peripheral lines. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care. Your ability to respond to emergencies and make quick decisions will be essential. Willingness to float between departments may be required. Strong communication skills and teamwork are imperative for success in this position. You will be expected to adhere to safety and quality standards in all interactions. Candidates should be prepared to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
