Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a school-based Occupational Therapist in the vibrant Houston area, supporting students ranging from early childhood to young adulthood (ages 3-21). This full-time position is ideal for dedicated OTs ready to make an impact across multiple campuses within a thoughtfully assigned zone, ensuring your commute is as convenient as possible. Using your expertise, you’ll deliver both direct services and consultation, maintaining a manageable, rotating caseload.

What you’ll bring:

• Active Occupational Therapy license in Texas (OTR/L)
• Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting is highly desirable; exceptional COTAs with extensive backgrounds will be considered
• Familiarity with school-based documentation platforms (e.g., SHARES, Onward) and comfort maintaining an Excel-based log for IEPs
• Strong ability to assess, evaluate, and document student progress for ARD committee participation
• Fingerprinting and successful background check completion as required by the district
• Ability to work independently, managing 6–7 assigned schools within a specific area
• Commitment to full-time hours: 37.5 per week, with typical shifts between 8:00–4:00

Key responsibilities:

• Conduct evaluations for students ages 3–21 and attend ARDs as needed
• Provide a balance of direct and consultative therapy services (caseload aimed at 70, with 30–40 students for direct support)
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in alignment with district protocols
• Use the district office as a home base, commuting to nearby schools as needed
• Collaborate with educational teams and families to create meaningful student outcomes
