About This Role The Registered Nurse in the Operating Room at Northwell Health is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for patients. Highlights Location : Syosset, NY Facility : Northwell Health Schedule : Full-Time, Day shift What You'll Do Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients. Perform admission assessments documented on Nursing Care Plans and Nurses notes. Reassess patients each shift and with changes in condition. Keep the supervisor informed of changes in patient condition and treatments. Collaborate with health team members for necessary follow-up. Explain procedures to patients before they are performed. Administer patient care while respecting privacy and dignity. Act rapidly and effectively during emergency situations. Contribute to patient care evaluation through unit performance improvement activities. Collaborate with health team members in planning and carrying out treatment regimens. Requirements Education: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred. Experience: Minimum 1-2 years experience in a hospital setting. Licenses & Certifications: Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State. Must be enrolled in an accredited program within 24 months of employment and obtain a BSN degree within five years of employment.
