Position Summary 

This temp position is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounts payable process, including invoice processing, payment preparation, account reconciliation, and maintaining accurate financial records.

Essential Functions

• Receive, review, code, and process vendor invoices accurately and efficiently.
• Match invoices with purchase orders, receipts, and other supporting documentation.
• Enter invoices and payment information into the accounting system.
• Assist with weekly and monthly payment processing.
• Reconcile vendor statements and investigate discrepancies.
• Respond to vendor inquiries regarding invoices, payments, and account balances.
• Maintain organized electronic and physical accounts payable records.
• Assist with month-end closing activities and accounts payable reporting.
• Ensure invoices are properly approved and processed according to company policies.
• Support the accounting team with special projects and other administrative duties as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of financial and vendor information.

Competencies

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or coursework in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
• 0–2 years of accounting, accounts payable, bookkeeping, or related experience.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to learn accounting software and internal financial systems.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Dependable, professional, and willing to learn.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• No direct supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

• Typical office environment with standard equipment and tasks. 
• Position requires work at a computer/video display terminal and desk for extensive periods of time. 

• Must Be Willing to Work Weekends, Overtime, and Holidays

Physical Demands

• The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required for this position. 
• Requires regular twisting/turning/squatting/bending/reaching/lifting and prolonged periods at a stationary/mobile workstation.
• Ability to lift 20 pounds.
• Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 20 pounds with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person.

Required Education and Experience

Education 

• ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­High School Diploma/GED Equivalent

Knowledge Requirements: 

• Typing 40 wpm
• 2+ years Customer Service and/or Call Center experience
• Basic computer knowledge

Experience

• Proven ability to handle difficult Customer Service issues and negotiate win-win solutions.
• Excellent Phone Manner & written communication skills
• Strong organizational abilities
• Strong multi-tasking abilities in a face paced environment.
