Maintenance Technician

This role is for an industrial maintenance technician supporting 2nd, 3rd, and weekend shifts in a highly automated manufacturing environment. You will diagnose and repair industrial equipment, perform corrective maintenance, and ensure reliable operation of robotics, PLCs, HMIs, and three-phase motor systems.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot industrial equipment to quickly identify mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
• Perform corrective maintenance on production machinery to restore equipment to optimal operating condition.
• Work with robotics systems to diagnose faults, perform adjustments, and support reliable automated operation.
• Troubleshoot and maintain PLC equipment, including Allen-Bradley systems, to minimize downtime.
• Use HMIs to monitor machine status, identify alarms, and support root-cause analysis of equipment problems.
• Interpret and work from electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints to plan and execute repairs.
• Diagnose and repair issues with three-phase motors, including wiring, overloads, and control circuits.
• Apply ladder logic knowledge to support PLC troubleshooting and basic programming adjustments as needed.
• Perform electrical maintenance tasks safely, including wiring, component replacement, and panel work.
• Support automation systems by identifying control issues and coordinating solutions to maintain production flow.
• Document maintenance activities clearly and accurately to support equipment history and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to prioritize work orders and support production goals.
• Participate in on-site interviews and assessments with leadership and HR as part of the hiring process.

Essential Skills

• Hands-on experience as a maintenance technician in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Proficiency with electrical troubleshooting, including control circuits and power distribution.
• Experience working with robotics and automated equipment in a production setting.
• Ability to troubleshoot and maintain PLC equipment, particularly Allen-Bradley platforms.
• Working knowledge of ladder logic for PLC diagnostics and minor program changes.
• Experience using HMIs to monitor and diagnose equipment performance and alarms.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints accurately.
• Experience working with three-phase motors and related control systems.
• Background in automation and industrial controls, including electrical maintenance tasks.
• Comfort working on 2nd, 3rd, and/or weekend shifts as required by the operation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with PLC programming and making program modifications to support production needs.
• Familiarity with Allen-Bradley hardware and software environments.
• Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics used in industrial machinery and automation systems.
• Ability to communicate clearly with production, engineering, and leadership teams.
• Strong problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn new technologies and equipment.
• Attention to detail when documenting maintenance work and following procedures.
• Commitment to safe work practices when performing electrical and mechanical maintenance.
• Any relevant technical training, certifications, or coursework in industrial maintenance, automation, or electrical systems.

Work Environment

The role is based in an industrial manufacturing setting with advanced automation, including robotics, PLCs, HMIs, and three-phase motor systems. Maintenance technicians support 2nd, 3rd, and weekend shifts, working directly on the production floor and in equipment areas. The work involves frequent use of tools, test equipment, and computer interfaces for PLCs and HMIs, as well as regular interaction with electrical panels, mechanical assemblies, pneumatics, and hydraulics. Technicians follow established safety procedures and are expected to wear appropriate industrial attire and personal protective equipment suitable for a manufacturing environment.

This is a Permanent position based out of Madison, AL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $80000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
