Crane Aerospace and Electronics Materials Supervisor – Lynnwood, WA About Crane Crane Aerospace & Electronics supplies critical systems and components to the aerospace and defense markets, operating in diverse environments from engines to unmanned aerial systems. Job Summary The Materials Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day performance of the material handlers’ group, driving results through KPIs and standardizing their work across Crane Aerospace & Electronics. Essential Functions Lead continuous improvement efforts with Buyers, Planners, and Operations across the site. Develop, establish, and lead the Material Handling team, mentoring and coaching to achieve individual and team excellence. Maintain and facilitate accurate control and accountability of inventory. Communicate with external and internal customers regarding inventory receipt variances, address and resolve issues quickly, and serve as liaison to other functional areas. Ensure a proactively trained and flexible team, maintaining proper skills for assignments and responsiveness to customer needs. Assist in continuous quality improvement, evaluating and recommending changes in methods and procedures. Plan, coordinate, and manage physical inventories and/or cycle counting as required for fiscal reporting. Perform any other task assigned by supervisor or management. Non-Essential Functions At low-volume sites, may also be responsible for Purchasing, Planning, Inventory Control, and Warehouse as assigned by manager. Coordinate or lead Excess & Obsolete inventory data reporting, disposition, withdrawal, and disposal processes with Procurement. Provide data, reports, and analysis to support Supply Chain, Finance, and Corporate requests for E&O, inventory categorization, and controls. Minimum Qualifications Experience: Minimum 5 years work experience, with 3+ years supervising or leading people, preferably in manufacturing. Knowledge: Solid understanding of integrated production and inventory management techniques, inventory control, and LEAN principles and methodologies. Skills/Abilities: Extensive computer skills in Excel, Access, and word processing; experience using an ERP system (preferably Oracle); strong organizational, process development/optimization, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Education/Certification: BS 4‑year degree in supply chain, logistics, business, or related field. Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Preferred Qualifications APICS and/or ISM certifications Working Conditions Standard manufacturing environment; may require safety equipment (eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps, and other PPE). Potential exposure to loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust, or fumes. Standing: ~25% of work time. Sitting: ~75% of work time. Lifting: up to 40 pounds. Pushing: up to 40 pounds.
