Open Rank Faculty Position Without Tenure (WOT), Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine

The Division of Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics, at the University of Washington School of Medicine, in partnership with Seattle Children's Hospital is seeking candidates for a full-time position at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor (WOT) without tenure by reason of funding, on the Clinician-Scholar Faculty pathway. Anticipated start date is Summer/Fall 2025.

Assistant Professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Associate and Full Professors hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.

The base salary range for this position will be: Assistant Professors $ 14,800 - $22,200 per month ($177,600 - $266,400 annually), Associate Professors $16,967 - $25,450 per month ($203,604 - $305,400 annually), Professors $22,134 - $33,200 per month ($265,608 - $398,400 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the Children's University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by Children's University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.

Duties will include providing primarily outpatient clinical care including attending ambulatory Sleep Medicine clinics including at regional sites, interpretation of polysomnography (including multiple sleep latency tests and actigraphy), performing inpatient sleep medicine consultations, research, and teaching, as well as active participation in Divisional and Departmental activities. The candidate will conduct clinical research or engage in scholarly activity in an area of Sleep Medicine dealing with chronic conditions with health equity in mind. The research focus will align with the Division of Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine at Seattle Children's Hospital, and the candidate will interact with medical students, residents, and pulmonary fellows in training.

Rank is commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position is a full-time appointment.

The successful candidate must have an MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent), medical licensure in the state of Washington and Board Eligibility or Certification in Sleep Medicine (or foreign equivalent) and have completed a US accredited sleep medicine fellowship by the start date of employment.

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
