Adult Day Care Activities Asst

Job Description The Activities Assistant supports the Adult Day Center by helping plan and lead engaging programs that promote social, cognitive, and physical well‑being for participants. This role assists with activity set‑up, participation, and clean‑up while ensuring a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment. Principal Accountabilities Work with ADC team to ensure safety of clients, at all times. Interact with clients in a professional and positive manner. Treat clients with respect, kindness, patience; helping to maintain clients' dignity. Assist clients who are unsteady with walking. Able to lift up to 25 pounds. Provide hands‑on assistance for clients, including personal care as needed. Participate in leading activities/program at request of Lead Activities Assistant. Participate in organization and coordination of activities/projects at request of Lead Activities Assistant. Assist during lunchtime to ensure calm, orderly flow of dining experience for clients. Set up program rooms for recreation activities. Communicate with member’s responsible party as needed and directed. Promote ADC in the community whenever possible. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Ability to work in a team setting. Effective interpersonal communication skills. Ability to maintain client/family confidentiality and handle crises in a calm and constructive manner. Ability to assist clients with personal care and toileting when necessary. Required High School Diploma or equivalent. Preferred 1 year of experience in assisted living, skilled nursing, or Adult Day Care experience or related field. #J-18808-Ljbffr Atlantic Health
