Corporate Counsel

Ginkgo Bioworks seeks a Corporate Counsel to support business development and operations at their Boston headquarters. The role involves negotiating agreements, managing transactions across business units, and providing legal guidance that balances risk with commercial opportunity in the biotechnology sector.

Responsibilities

Lead negotiations on customer, vendor, partner, and supplier agreements including collaboration, licensing, and procurement contracts
Provide cross-functional legal counsel to business development, operations, finance, and technical teams
Review term sheets, conduct due diligence, and draft transaction documents across multiple business units
Build internal legal infrastructure through templates, models, and guidance documentation
Support commercial operations in establishing and maintaining strategic partnerships and collaborations

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in any field
Juris Doctor and active U.S. law license
3+ years legal experience in law firm or corporate setting
Experience in business development, logistics, or customer relationships in life sciences or biotechnology
5 days per week on-site availability required
