divh2ES Attendance Clerk/h2pReports To: Principal/ppPay Grade: Paraprofessional 040 (195 days)/ppRevised: 1/9/2014/ppJob Goal:/ppMaintain accurate and complete student data records pertaining to student attendance and records, maintain confidentiality of information/ppQualifications:/ppHigh School Diploma or GED/ppSpecial Knowledge/Skills:/pulliKnowledge of general office equipment/liliEffective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills/liliAbility to effectively use district student management programs after standard training and with reasonable help-desk assistance/liliBilingual English/Spanish preferred/li/ulpExperience:/ppOne (1) year of clerical/secretarial experience or other equivalent experience or background/ppMajor Performance Responsibilities and Duties:/polliPerform all clerical duties necessary to maintain accurate and complete student attendance and other student records within established district guidelines./liliCoordinate with campus and district staff to record all student attendance information in the student management system for submission to the state./liliResponsible for management of TEA Campus Attendance Verification Reports./liliRecord tardies and refer consistently students to Attendance Officer when students arrive late./liliResponsible for management of I Am Present./liliCommunicate with parents/guardians regarding student attendance issues./liliEnsure that all student absences are followed-up with on a daily basis; maintain absence notes for each student./liliResponsible for running Cognos reports for Attendance/liliWork with administrators, counselors, teachers, and other staff to implement intervention plans for students with attendance issues./liliWork with administrators, counselors, teachers, and other staff to implement positive approaches to improving student attendance and punctuality./liliTransfer and request student cumulative records as students enter/withdraw within and outside the district and manage all TREx processes./liliMaintain all student active and inactive cumulative files./liliBe responsive to customers by backing up the receptionist during peak office hours./liliAssist students, teachers, and parents as needed./liliReceive incoming calls and take reliable messages as needed./liliMaintain confidentiality of information and student records./liliRemain informed of and comply with state, district, and school policies and regulations concerning primary job functions./liliField calls and respond to customers while Receptionist is at lunch./liliServe as a back-up to the Data Processing Clerk through comprehensive cross-Training./li/olpEquipment Used:/ppComputer, printer, copier, telephone, calculator, and facsimile/ppWorking Conditions:/ppMental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Demands/ppPerform tasks with frequent interruptions/ppMaintain emotional control under stress/ppWork to meet established deadlines/ppExtensive typing/repetitive hands motions/ppProlonged use of computer/ppOccasional prolonged and irregular hours/ppCommunicate effectively (verbal and written)/ppSafety:/ppPerform all duties in a safe and responsible manner. Observe all safety precautions.
