Make your move to B&H today!General Ledger Accountant Sr. is responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures. The General Ledger Accountant Sr. monitors and enters transactions into the general ledger as well as sub ledgers. The Accountant Sr. creates and enters journal entries and performs complex account reconciliations. Additionally, the G/L Accountant serves as a primary point of contact for external auditors.Essential Responsibilities:General LedgerMaintain integrity of ledgers and transactions.Partner with other departments to coordinate monthly closePrepares and enters complex journal entries and account reconciliationsPrepares of monthly financial statementsReviews and analyzes various accounts utilizing variance reportingEstablish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control proceduresPrimary point of contact for external auditorsAssist in training of staff accountantsAccounting System MaintenanceInvestigate and conduct "root cause" analysis on transactional posting errors occurring through various system feedsCollaborates with IS in taking corrective action on resolving system issues and defining system requirements for program modificationsAssists in the analysis of the system posting processes and provides recommendations for improvementsInteracts with other Finance Groups (AP, AR, VPC) in identifying system related issues within their environmentSpecific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of major accounting conceptsEfficient research and problem solving skillsArticulate communicator and analytical thinkerProfessional phone demeanorExcellent writing skillsDetail-oriented and quick thinkerPreferred Education, Experience and Licenses:Minimum 3 – 5 years of general accounting experienceUtilization of Microsoft Office programsBA in AccountingWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
