Business Development Representative - Information Technology

Overview Silex is seeking a Business Development Representative to build pipelines and accelerate revenue by identifying, engaging, and qualifying prospective customers. You will collaborate closely with sales, marketing, and partner teams to launch campaigns, secure introductory meetings, and hand off qualified opportunities. You’ll leverage modern sales tools, maintain meticulous data hygiene, and continuously sharpen product and industry knowledge to deliver a high-quality first impression with prospects. Key Responsibilities Prospect daily via outbound email, social, and phone to generate first meetings with target accounts and personas. Qualify inbound leads and outbound prospects against ICP criteria; capture discovery notes and next steps. Schedule and coordinate meetings across multiple calendars and time zones; prepare agendas, materials, and follow-ups. Maintain accurate records in CRM and spreadsheets (pipelines, KPIs, action registers) with timely updates. Collaborate with partner teams on co-marketing and enablement activities to drive awareness and first meetings. Support event planning and execution (webinars, lunch-and-learns, user groups) to engage target audiences. Complete vendor sales trainings and certifications to improve product fluency and credibility in conversations. Prepare basic quotes or information requests and coordinate smooth handoffs to account executives for advanced scoping. Contribute ideas and experiments to improve outreach performance, messaging, and conversion rates. Qualifications 0–3 years in sales development, inside sales, marketing, or customer-facing roles; entry-level candidates encouraged. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, OneNote); able to manage tools daily with speed and accuracy. Strong written and verbal communication; comfortable leading short intro calls and coordinating next steps. Excellent time management, organization, and attention to detail; able to juggle priorities without dropping essentials. Curiosity and willingness to learn IT solutions across data storage, security, networking, virtualization, and software/hardware. Self-disciplined, motivated, and capable of working in a largely unsupervised environment while meeting activity targets. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot). Experience in technology services, VARs, distributors, or channel/partner ecosystems. Basic reporting or dashboard skills (e.g., Power BI, Data Studio). Social selling experience (LinkedIn, community forums) and content collaboration with marketing.
