About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP of Sales to spearhead its next phase of growth, transitioning from a founder-led sales approach to a more scalable and repeatable model. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a small team of AEs, carrying a team quota, and must have a strong background in SaaS sales within the higher education sector. This role requires a professional with a proven track record of scaling an EdTech startup, particularly in the early stages, and experience in managing and growing a sales team. The VP of Sales will be expected to have a deep understanding of the higher education market, including the ability to sell to deans, provosts, and other executive stakeholders, and to navigate deal cycles of varying lengths. Applicants for the VP of Sales position at the company should have at least 8 years of experience in SaaS sales, specifically within the higher education sector, and a history of success in scaling an EdTech startup. The role demands a leader with a hands-on, player-coach approach, and a strong proficiency in HubSpot. The ideal candidate will be comfortable in a remote-first, fast-moving startup environment and be prepared for a role that involves 30% or more travel.
