This contract position is designed for dedicated Special Education Teachers eager to make an impact in substantially separate elementary classrooms. Collaborate with a team of passionate professionals in a full-time, onsite role, providing specialized instruction for K-1st or 3rd-5th grade students. The environment offers travel professionals a chance to expand their experience while truly shaping young lives.
Qualifications:
- Hold or be eligible for appropriate state Special Education Teacher certification
- Previous experience working with elementary students with moderate to severe cognitive and physical disabilities
- Preferred background in specially designed instruction
- Experience with Applied Behavior Analysis methodologies is highly valued
- Comfortable providing toileting support as part of daily responsibilities
- Demonstrated ability to implement IEPs and behavior intervention plans
- Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving abilities
- Experience or willingness to work with students on the autism spectrum and non-verbal students
- Flexibility and empathy, especially when adapting to a dynamic classroom environment
- Open to travel professionals able to work onsite only
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized academic and behavioral instruction in small, substantially separate settings
- Develop, adapt, and implement lesson plans tailored to students’ unique abilities and learning styles
- Collaborate with classroom RBTs and related service staff for comprehensive student support
- Collect data and monitor student progress to inform instruction and meet IEP goals
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom atmosphere
- Provide personal care and toileting support as required
- Communicate regularly with families and interdisciplinary teams
