Molecular Genetics Technologist I-III (Clinical Lab)Location: Houston, TX (Onsite) Duration: 6+ months C2H-Multiple OpeningsSummary: Conducts high complexity molecular tests in the treatment and diagnosis of genetic diseasesDuties And Responsibilities:Performs clinical testing in compliance with CAP, NY, CLIA regulations.Troubleshoots assay performance.Operates and maintains the laboratory equipment, maintains the lab following 5S standards.Performs QC and informs manager/supervisor immediately if systems deviate from the laboratory's established specification.Maintains laboratory stock levels and restocking supplies.Trains new employees as needed.Performs other job-related duties as assigned.Adheres to the Code of Conduct as outlined in the clients Compliance Program.Qualifications:Molecular Genetics Technologist IDegree: Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline or medical technologyRelevant experience: 0-2 yearsCertification (preferred): MB(ASCP) or MT(ASCP)Molecular Genetics Technologist IIDegree: Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline or medical technologyRelevant experience: 2-4 yearsCertification (required): MB(ASCP) or MT(ASCP)ORDegree: Master's degree in a scientific discipline or medical technologyRelevant experience: 0-2 yearsCertification (required): MB(ASCP) or MT(ASCP)Molecular Genetics Technologist IIIDegree: Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline or medical technologyRelevant experience: 4-6 yearsCertification (required): MB(ASCP) or MT(ASCP)ORDegree: Master's degree in a scientific discipline or medical technologyRelevant experience: 2-4 yearsCertification (required): MB(ASCP) or MT(ASCP)ORDegree: PhD in a scientific discipline or medical technologyRelevant experience: 0-2 yearsCertification (required): MB(ASCP) or MT(ASCP)Physical Demands And Work Environment:Frequently required to sitFrequently required to standFrequently required to utilize hand and finger dexterityFrequently required to talk or hearFrequently required to utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboardOccasionally exposed to bloodborne and airborne pathogens or infectious materials
