Conduct evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations employing standardized assessments along with observational practices.
Create customized treatment plans targeting both short-term objectives and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing necessities.
Deliver one-on-one speech therapy focused on language, communication, fluency, voice, and swallowing challenges.
Work in synergy with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to craft comprehensive care strategies.
Provide education to patients and their families to maintain progress beyond therapy sessions.
Assist with speech therapy evaluations and interventions for inpatient cases, ensuring a seamless continuum of care during the treatment process.
Maintain meticulous documentation in compliance with state, federal, and organizational standards.
Stay up-to-date with advancements in the discipline through ongoing education and collaboration with peers.
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification has yet to be achieved.
State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
Demonstrated proficiency in evidence-based treatment for varied age groups, combined with a thorough understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
Exceptional communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams.
Ability to modify therapy techniques to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation requirements.
