Staff Accountant Location: Harahan, LA 70123 Job Type: Full-Time Pay Rate: $26.00 – $28.00 / hour Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Harahan, LA. In this role, you will maintain accurate financial records and support core accounting operations across general ledger management, accounts receivable, balance sheet reconciliations, and month-end closing activities while ensuring regulatory compliance and strengthening internal controls. Key Responsibilities General Ledger & Month-End Close: Maintain accurate financial records by supporting general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and month-end closing procedures. Accounts Receivable: Oversee AR functions, customer invoicing, payment application, and account reconciliation. Reconciliations & Discrepancies: Prepare and audit balance sheet and bank reconciliations; investigate and resolve financial discrepancies promptly. Financial Reporting & Compliance: Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting activities while ensuring full compliance with accounting policies and standards. Process Improvement: Evaluate existing accounting procedures and assist in developing improved controls and workflows for the organization. Compensation & Benefits Pay Rate: $26.00 – $28.00 per hour (commensurate with experience) Schedule: Full-time, standard business hours Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) retirement plan, paid time off (PTO), and paid holidays. Qualifications & Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and progressive experience). 2+ years of general accounting, AR, or general ledger experience. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables) and accounting/ERP software systems. High attention to detail with strong analytical and discrepancy-resolution skills.
