Job no: 561570 Work type: Staff Location: Pomona Categories: Unit 9 - CSUEU - Technical Support Services, Administrative, Probationary, Full Time, On-site (work in-person at business location) BUDGETARY TRACKING AND ANALYSIS Follows established procedures in support of budgeting initiatives and processes for the Singelyn Graduate School of Business (SGSB) and the College's Centers and Institutes. Surveys and investigates assigned budget matters, including collecting systemwide, campus-level, and other applicable financial information. Conducts basic analysis to support the review of budget requests, including projected revenues and costs, posting of budget data, and ongoing budgetary control of allocations. Monitors and reconciles assigned State, Enterprise Foundation, Philanthropic Foundation, grant/contract, and other accounts related to SGSB, Centers, and Institutes. Tracks revenues, expenditures, encumbrances, and available balances and assists with revenue and expenditure projections. Prepares information concerning specific phases of budgets and financial procedures and contributes to budget summary reports by completing financial analysis for the Dean, Associate Deans, SGSB, and Center and Institute Directors, as needed. Coordinates with the Budget Analyst II on assigned budget activities, reconciliations, reporting, and discrepancies. Provides customer service to internal and external stakeholders and performs assigned budget activities in accordance with established procedures. Approximately 20% of this responsibility supports designated College of Business Administration Dean's Office budget activities. STUDENT SUCCESS Supports the financial administration of scholarships, including preparing reports on scholarship availability and award amounts and coordinating with the Office of Financial Aid, Associate Dean of Student Success, SGSB Director, and other designated officials responsible for scholarship awards and disbursements. Supports financial processing for student travel related to SGSB programs and Center and Institute activities, including intercollegiate competitions. Supports student clubs with budget requests involving non-ASI accounts, including Enterprise and Philanthropic Foundation accounts. Assists with student reimbursements related to SGSB programs and initiatives. BUDGET COORDINATION AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT Attends appropriate training courses and Budget Analyst meetings to remain current with university fiscal policies, procedures, systems, and practices. Serves as a resource on routine budget matters related to SGSB, Centers, and Institutes. Participates in College and Dean's Office budget meetings and attends other budget-related meetings with the Budget Analyst II when requested by the Dean or Associate Dean. QUALIFICATIONS: Combination - Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field. Ability to work independently and as part of a team and build relationships with diverse stakeholders. Proficiency in using word processing and spreadsheet software and applications. Ability to learn financial systems. Organizational and time management skills to plan, organize, and prioritize work. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience supporting budget or financial operations in a higher education or public-sector environment. Experience working with State, auxiliary, foundation, grant, or philanthropic fiscal policies and procedures. Experience using financial and reporting systems such as PeopleSoft Financials, OneSolution, Tableau, or similar applications. Proficiency using Microsoft Excel to organize, reconcile, and analyze financial data. CSU Classification Salary Range This position is part of the CSUEU bargaining unit 9. The CSU Classification Standards for this position are located on the CSU Classification Standards website . The classification salary range for this position according to the respective skill level is: minimum $4,570 and maximum $6,658 per month.
