Accounts Payable Clerk

The Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for managing outgoing payments, ensuring vendor invoices are accurately received, approved, and paid on time. Key duties include data entry, invoice verification, reconciling accounts, and managing vendor communication.

Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities:  

• Receive, code and enter vendor invoices into accounting system. 
• Schedule and prepare payments (checks, ACH, wire transfers) and manage the weekly check run. 
• Maintain vendor files including reconciliation of vendor statements and answering inquiries. 
• Verify invoices for accuracy, ensuring proper authorization; comply with internal financial policies. 
• Reconcile accounts payable ledgers and bank statements. 
• Other related duties as assigned 

Required Skills and Responsibilities:  

• Must be reliable and extremely trustworthy 
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related programs 
• Must be able to learn other accounting software systems 
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail 
• Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records 

Education and Experience:  

• High school diploma required; Business or Accounting degree preferred 
• Certified Accounts Payable Professional (CAPP) certification preferred 
• 2+ years of experience in financial record-keeping preferred
