Patient Scheduling Representative IV - TGH Imaging CBS Mammo

Summary Position is to coordinate, schedule and reschedule special radiology procedures for patients and referring physician offices at all of our TGH Imaging locations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Coordinate, schedule and reschedule patient’s special (Nuclear Medicine, PET Biopsies and Research Studies) radiology procedures as requested by patients and referring physician offices for all of TGH Imaging locations. Maintain general knowledge of radiology procedures, CPT, ICD codes and health insurance. Answer questions regarding appointments and imaging during calls with patients and/or physician offices. Obtain necessary information (patient demographics and insurance information) and record it in the scheduling system. Give patients the necessary prep instructions prior to their scheduled exam. Remind patients to bring necessary items: script, insurance and a form of identification, prior studies when applicable and also payment that may be expected at the time of service. Obtain referral and authorization information when available and record it into the patient’s file in the RIS system. Be efficient with high volume outbound calls related to interface orders and incoming fax order requests. Scrub all scripts for diagnosis, date, signatures and correct exam protocols. Communicate back to the referring offices regarding their patient’s appointment status. Function in a team environment and assist other team members when needed. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications / Education / Experience High school graduate or GED preferred. Proficient in computer software and excellent typing skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Problem solving techniques and skills. Great phone etiquette, able to communicate clearly to establish cooperative relationships with patients, families, physicians and team members.
