PositionSummary TheEstimator–IndustrialCoatingsisresponsiblefordevelopingtimely,accurate,andcompetitiveestimatesforindustrialcoatingprojects.Thispositionevaluatescustomerrequestsforquotation(RFQs),determinesmaterial,labor,equipment,andsubcontractorrequirements,andpreparesestimatesinaccordancewithMarquisestimatingprocessesandstandards. TheEstimatoralsoservesasacustomer-facingresource,developingandmaintainingstrongcustomerrelationships,participatingincustomermeetingsandsitevisits,andidentifyingopportunitiestosupportthecompany'sgrowth.Thesuccessfulcandidatewilldemonstratestrongestimatingskills,attentiontodetail,soundbusinessjudgment,andtheabilitytoeffectivelycommunicatewithcustomers,vendors,fieldpersonnel,andinternalstakeholders. EssentialFunctions FollowandpromoteMarquissafetypolicies,procedures,andapplicablesitesafetyrequirements. ReviewRFQpackages,drawings,specifications,andotherprojectdocumentstoidentifyscope,requirements,exclusions,andpotentialrisks. Developaccurateandcompetitiveestimatesforindustrialcoatingprojects,includinglargeandcomplexprojects. Determinelabor,material,equipment,subcontractor,andotherresourcerequirementsnecessarytocompleteestimates. Developdetailedquantitytakeoffsandpricingbasedonprojectspecifications,drawings,historicalcosts,andcurrentmarketconditions. Utilizethecentralizedcost-estimatingdatabaseandestablishedestimatingprocessestoensureconsistency,accuracy,andappropriateuseofhistoricalprojectdata. Identifyestimatingassumptions,exclusions,qualifications,risks,andpotentialcostimpacts. Coordinatewithoperations,projectmanagement,procurement,safety,andotherinternalresourcestoobtaininformationandsupportrequiredtodevelopaccurateestimates. Communicatewithcustomers,vendors,subcontractors,andotherexternalpartiestoclarifyprojectrequirements,obtainpricing,andresolveestimatingquestions. Conductcustomerandprojectsitevisits,includingplantwalkthroughs,asnecessarytounderstandprojectscopeandsiteconditions. Prepareandpresentestimates,proposals,andsupportingdocumentationinaclearandprofessionalmanner. Participateincustomermeetingsandconductweeklysalescallstomaintainrelationships,understandcustomerneeds,andidentifypotentialopportunities. Maintaincurrentknowledgeoflabor,material,equipment,andmarketpricingrelevanttoindustrialcoatings. Trackandfollowuponsubmittedestimatesandcustomeropportunities. Supportthedevelopmentandmaintenanceofstrongcustomerrelationshipsthroughresponsivecommunicationandprofessionalfollow-through. Meetestablisheddeadlinesandcommunicatepotentialdelaysorestimatingchallengestomanagement. Maintainaccurateestimatingrecordsanddocumentation. Performotherdutiesandresponsibilitiesasassignedbymanagement.
