Sr. Manager, Merchandising Planning

About The Role Total Wine & More is seeking a Sr. Manager, Merchandising Planning, to join our Merchandising team. This role will lead the strategy and execution of in-store display plans, chain-wide inventory management, and merchandising campaigns. This role ensures effective in-store displays, inventory ownership, and promotions to drive sales and incremental gross margin through cross-functional partnership and performance analyses. To be successful, this role influences the ELT and necessary cross-functional partners (marketing, supply chain, store operations, promotions) to optimize and execute chain-wide plans with effective communication and data-driven decision making. You will report to the VP, Spirits, with dotted-line support to leadership across Wine, Beer, Hard Beverage, and Lifestyle, & More departments. You will Lead the in-store merchandising plan in partnership with Merchandising, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Operations, aligning business goals to drive traffic, sales, and gross margin. Lead presentation-level strategies and execution including campaigns, sell-through initiatives, in-store displays, and promotional inventory management across all departments. Influence Grand Opening inventory strategies, partnering cross-functionally with key stakeholders to ensure successful merchandising of priority initiatives and assortments. Influence leadership, field, and cross-functional partners on high-impact initiatives, such as campaigns, holidays, and seasonal by leading and presenting strategies in high-visibility meetings (DM/RVP week, Driving the Business, etc). Influence peers and cross-functional partners to implement margin-driving opportunities through communication, partnership, and data-driven decision making from analytics tools. Promote a team environment of testing & learning, scalability, and continuous innovation through leadership acumen, collaboration, and accountability. Promote continuous improvement of presentation-level ownership, seeking opportunities to further streamline and optimize complex inventory strategies with growing company store fleet. Travel when necessary- holiday, store visits, etc. You will come with 7-10 years merchandising, promotions, buying, planning or inventory management. Preferred minimum 1-year supervisory experience. Bachelor's Degree in Business, Merchandising, Statistics, Finance, or a related field. Undergraduate degree in business or related field required. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to successfully multi-task in a deadline driven atmosphere, while understanding big-picture objectives and strategy. Strong experience in analytics and comfortable with quantitative analysis and drawing conclusions to create an action plan. Strong project management skills in executing campaigns and communication efforts across a distributed organization. Comfort with financial and category analytics to help guide efforts and refine ways of working Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Must be a self-starter and a team player who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment. Must be flexible and easily adapt to change as business priorities. Advanced excel skills and knowledge of BI platforms a plus.
