Date: 9/18/2026 Job Title: Assistant Director of Operations Division: Operations Location: Washington, DC FLSA: Exempt Schedule: Full-Time, to include evenings and weekends* Travel: N/A Salary: $80,000 to $90,000 Depending on Experience* Salary is adjusted to local market rates.* Position Summary The Assistant Director of Operations supports the Director of Operations in leading all the Operations Division strategy, ensuring operational excellence, exceptional guest experience, and achievement of financial objectives. This position assists the Director of Operations oversee the day-to-day performance of Food and Beverage, Housekeeping, Facilities and Security while acting as the Senior Operations Division leader in the absence of the Director of Operations. The Assistant Director of Operations is responsible for enhancing and sustaining a culture of service excellence, supporting all departments within the museum as the foundation of the Operations Division, maintaining the highest standards of building condition, hygiene and quality, while ensuring departmental goals align with the overall business objectives of the museum. Duties & Responsibilities Leadership & Team Development Lead, coach, and support Department Heads across the Division to ensure seamless operations and outstanding service delivery. Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance culture that promotes employee engagement and professional growth. Oversee onboarding/orientation, training & performance management across the vendor partners. Recognize team achievements while promoting accountability and continuous improvement. Guest Experience & Service Excellence Serve as a highly visible leader and role model for personalized luxury hospitality. Build meaningful relationships with guests and employees to strengthen loyalty and engagement. Resolve guest concerns and special requests with professionalism, empathy, and sound judgment. Lead service recovery efforts within Food & Beverage, Facilities, Security and Housekeeping and empower teams to consistently exceed guest expectations. Champion guest recognition programs and personalized service initiatives throughout the museum. Ensure every guest interaction reflects the highest standards of hospitality and care. Operations Management Assume full operational oversight as the designated Weekend Leader on Duty, managing all cross-functional property needs and ensuring operational excellence. With Director of Operations, lead the performance of Food and Beverage, Housekeeping, Facilities, Security and related operations. Maintain strong partnerships with Housekeeping and Engineering teams to ensure exceptional building quality, hygiene and preventative maintenance standards. Conduct regular inspections of public areas, and operational spaces to ensure compliance with brand standards. Support implementation of space quality enhancement programs and operational improvement initiatives. Ensure teams have the tools, resources, and support needed to deliver exceptional results. Act as the Senior Operations Division leader in the absence of the Director of Operations. Financial & Business Performance Support the Director of Operations in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning activities. Monitor and manage labor costs, operating expenses, productivity, and departmental financial performance. Collaborate with Revenue Management teams, Guest Relations, Development, Marketing, Event and Sales teams to maximize occupancy and overall museum revenue. Participate in long-range capital planning and hotel improvement projects. Operational Excellence & Safety Monitor daily operations to ensure service standards, productivity targets, and guest expectations are consistently achieved. Provide operational leadership during high-demand periods and support cross-functional museum operations as needed. Respond effectively to emergencies, incidents, and guest-related concerns. Ensure compliance with company policies, operating procedures, safety standards, and service culture expectations. Act as the senior Operations Division leader in the absence of the Director of Operations. Champion the Museum of the Bible's mission to invite all people to engage with the transformative power of the Bible. As required, inclusion in official or incidental photographs and videos for MOTB and/or guests. Other Duties as Assigned. Qualifications & Requirements Knowledge Microsoft office Suite - Excel, Word, Outlook required Shipping experience preferred High School Diploma Preferred* Proven leadership experience in operations within a luxury environment. Strong background in guest-facing roles. Skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining attention to detail. Financial acumen with experience managing budgets, labor costs, and operational performance. Abilities Ability to stoop, stand, climb, and occasionally lift a minimum of 20 lbs. as required Must be able to adapt and pivot to different duties, work schedules, or events as assigned, in accordance with operational needs and applicable wage and hour requirements. #J-18808-Ljbffr
