Accounting Manager/Supervisor

DescriptionAccounting Manager opportunity with Ronkonkoma manufacturing company. This role involves overseeing a team of accounting staff and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations. The ideal candidate will be a working manager, hands-on with all operational accounting as well as experienced in managing accounting processes.Responsibilities:• Lead and manage a team of accounting staff, providing guidance and support to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.• Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and meet organizational deadlines.• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial standards.• Prepare journal entries and ensure proper documentation for all financial transactions.• Coordinate and assist with financial statement audits, ensuring readiness and compliance with audit requirements.• Supervise account reconciliation processes to verify accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.• Collaborate with the Controller and other leadership members to support strategic financial initiatives.• Ensure adherence to accounting principles and practices specific to the manufacturing industry.• Develop and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency of accounting operations.• Monitor team performance and encourage growth and skill development among staff members.Requirements• Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities.• Strong proficiency in month-end close processes and general ledger management.• Demonstrated expertise in preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts.• Experience conducting and supporting financial statement audits.• Knowledge of accounting practices and standards within the manufacturing industry.• Proven ability to manage and mentor accounting teams effectively.• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; advanced certifications are a plus.Job typePermIndustryManufacturing
