Job TitlePayroll SpecialistJob DescriptionCompile and process payroll information in accordance with established practices; review source documents and prepare preliminary and final reports; and respond to employee questions relating to payroll processes.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other CharacteristicsKnowledge of appropriate steps to analytical problem solving.Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.Ability to work in a team environment, remaining attentive to ideas, recognizing responsibilities, and actively participating with others to accomplish assignments and achieve desired goals.Treats others fairly and with respect.Knowledge of department policies, rules, regulations, business goals, vision, organizational structure, culture, operating principles and values, etc.Ability to establish and maintain project priorities.Seeking new learning experiences.Engage in payroll development knowledge through learning courses.Enhance knowledge of US State and Federal Taxes through learning courses.Identifies what needs to be done and acts before being asked or required.Identify what needs to be done and report it to payroll management.Working ConditionsThis position is considered OFFICE WORK which is characterized as follows.Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night.Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the workplace.Work surface is stable (flat).ResponsibilitiesFunctionsESSENTIALEnter, maintain, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employees' hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.Responsible for maintaining a high degree of confidentiality relative to employee personal data.Review time sheets, work charts, wage computation, and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies.Validate 401K changes as provided by Benefits Team.Process US payrolls (Regular, Terminations, and Off-Cycles) timely and accurately.Ensure proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions.Reconciles payroll to the general ledger and monthly bank statements.Process paperwork for new hires and enter/validate employee information into the payroll system.Assist with Federal and State Taxes processes and research where needed.Perform Post-Payroll Processes and Audits reports.Record employee information such as exemptions, transfers, garnishments, and resignations, to maintain and update payroll records.Process and issue employee payments and statements of earnings and deductions.Compile employee time, production and payroll data from time sheets and other records.Issue and record adjustments to pay related to previous errors or retroactive increases.Process final payments according to state regulations/laws.Record and process federal and state payroll tax deposits.Maintain Standard Operating Procedures documentation.Support request from external and internal audit teams.Perform Payroll Testing as requested.Work with business departments at various levels to ensure accurate payroll data is provided.Handle Verification of Employment.Manage court ordered Garnishments and Levies through ADP.Assist with Projects as requested.Assist with Year-End processes.Handle Payroll mail.Performs other duties as assigned by Payroll Manager/Payroll Supervisor.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.QualificationsREQUIREDAssociate degree preferred and/or Certified Payroll Professional Certification or Re-certification. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.Working knowledge of Oracle/PeopleSoft (North America Payroll)Three (3) to Five (5) years' related payroll experience required.Knowledge of SOX compliance, FLSA compliance, state compliance, worldwide foreign payroll compliance, expats, inpats, secondment payrolls, equalization, benefit in kinds, knowledge of Global Payroll compliances of Expat, Inpats, short term and long-term assignments.Working knowledge of payroll functions USA and WorldwideFamiliarity with local statutory requirements and local labor law and federal statutory requirements and federal labor law, and worldwide laws.DESIREDCertified Payroll Professional Certification preferred.A self-motivated individual who adapts quickly with today's virtual knowledge, self-disciplined with a work schedule remotely from home and/or another designated geographic area as needed.Job InfoJob Identification 10711Job Category FinanceJob Schedule Full time
