Production Supervisor

Job Title: Production Supervisor - Sign Fabrication

Location: Albany, NY | Pay: $28-$40/hour] | Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, day shift

Saxton Sign Co. is hiring an experienced Production Supervisor to run our sign fabrication shop in Albany. If you're a metal fabrication or sign industry pro with lead or supervisory experience, and you like being hands-on on the shop floor while keeping production on schedule, this is your next move.

What You'll Do

• Plan, assign, and supervise daily work orders across fabrication, welding, painting, assembly, and installation prep
• Lead, train, and mentor a team of fabricators, welders, painters, and installers
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, job tickets, and permit sets to build signs to exact dimensions and code
• Enforce OSHA safety standards, lead safety briefings, and ensure proper use of PPE, lifts, and machinery
• Inspect work in progress and finished signage for quality and structural integrity before installation
• Maintain shop equipment including welders, press brakes, CNC routers, paint booths, and lifts, and schedule preventive maintenance
• Manage inventory of aluminum, steel, acrylic, vinyl, hardware, and consumables to prevent delays
• Coordinate with Production, Sales, and Design on scheduling and job priorities
• Track production records, time, and job costing, and troubleshoot bottlenecks to keep jobs moving

What You Bring

• 5+ years in sign fabrication, metal fabrication, or a related trade, including lead or supervisor experience
• Strong knowledge of fabrication methods and materials: aluminum, steel, acrylic, and vinyl
• Proficiency with welders, brakes, shears, CNC routers, and hand/power tools
• Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and permit sets
• Proven ability to train, motivate, and hold a team accountable
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and shop safety best practices
• Basic computer skills for scheduling, email, and production tracking
• High school diploma or equivalent (trade school or technical certification a plus)
• Forklift and/or aerial lift certification preferred, or willingness to obtain
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record preferred

Pay and Benefits

• $58,240.00- $83,200.00 per year, based on experience

Physical Requirements

Regularly lift up to 50 lbs (up to 75 lbs occasionally with assistance); stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods; work at heights and with power tools, welding equipment, and heavy machinery; work in a shop environment with noise, fumes, dust, and varying temperatures.
