Are you an experienced HR leader who enjoys balancing strategic leadership with hands-on employee and labor relations? We’re partnering with a mission-driven nonprofit organization seeking a Senior Director of Human Resources to lead its HR function and serve as a trusted partner to executive leadership. This role is ideal for a seasoned HR professional who can navigate complex and sensitive people matters while building strong relationships with employees, managers, union representatives, and organizational leaders.

What You’ll Be Doing…

• Partner with executive leadership to develop and implement HR strategies aligned with organizational priorities, culture, and operational needs
• Serve as a strategic advisor on workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, talent management, and complex people-related matters
• Lead employee relations activities, including performance management, workplace investigations, disciplinary matters, conflict resolution, and terminations
• Provide HR leadership for a heavily unionized workforce, including collective bargaining preparation, strategy, research, costing, and implementation
• Interpret and administer collective bargaining agreements while supporting grievances, labor disputes, and relationships with union representatives
• Lead compensation programs, including evaluation of pay structures, job classifications, internal equity, and market competitiveness
• Oversee HR policies, procedures, practices, and employment compliance while remaining hands-on with day-to-day HR needs when necessary

Here’s What Your Work History Needs to Show as Evidence That You’re the Right Candidate…

• Senior-level HR leadership experience with responsibility for both strategic and operational HR functions
• Strong employee relations experience handling complex investigations, performance matters, disciplinary actions, workplace conflict, and terminations
• Experience supporting a unionized workforce, including collective bargaining, CBA interpretation, grievances, and labor relations
• Experience developing or administering compensation programs, pay structures, job classifications, and related total rewards initiatives
• Demonstrated ability to advise executive leadership, build credibility across all levels of an organization, and navigate complex or sensitive workplace matters

Additional Details

Location: Seattle, WA | Hybrid

Pay Rate: $62.00–$74.00 per hour DOE

Employment Model: Direct Hire with Comprehensive Benefits Package

Requirements: Must be able to pass a criminal background check
