Job Summary BHMG Urgent Care Stonecrest PRN MA. The Medical Assistant will coordinate direct patient care activities and provide clinical support to providers within one of our clinical practices. Responsibilities Check in patients Obtain vital signs Medication reconciliation Patient medical history information Navigate the electronic health record system (EPIC) Communicate with pharmacies, insurance companies, patients and physicians Uphold Baptist’s mission and core values that drive service excellence Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or General Education Equivalency 1+ year(s) of experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical office, clinic or similar setting Direct, hands‑on patient care experience (e.g., obtaining vital signs, documenting patient history and medications, performing clinical procedures such as EKGs, phlebotomy, administering injections or vaccines) Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant training program that includes hands‑on patient experience as part of the curriculum Basic computer skills, experience with an EMR system Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association within 90 days of hire BAT and DOT certifications required for Medical Assistants in Occupational Medicine within 90 days of hire Upon hire, all Medical Assistants will undergo a clinical competency assessment and must successfully complete MA orientation; those who do not meet the required standards will be enrolled in the Medical Assistant Trainee Program for further development and evaluation Preferred Qualifications Certified Medical Assistant (current certification from AAMA, AMT, NAHP, NCCT, or AAMP) Graduate of an accredited LPN or RN program with current unrestricted licensure Experience with EKGs, phlebotomy, injections or vaccines will be a plus EEO Statement Baptist Health is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer, and seeks to employ individuals without regard to race, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, marital status, citizenship status, military status, religious or political beliefs, protected veteran status, employment status or any other protected class identified in any federal, state, or local law.
