Embark on a rewarding opportunity as a Physical Therapist supporting elementary and middle school students during a leave coverage assignment. This contract position, set from October 16, 2026, through February 5, 2027, invites you to make a meaningful impact in a vibrant school environment close to Washingtonville, NY.
With a flexible schedule of three days per week (8:30 am–3:00 pm), you’ll collaborate with dedicated educators and help students develop critical skills. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring students with mandated IEPs receive top-notch physical therapy services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver physical therapy services as indicated on students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Conduct thorough evaluations and reevaluations to assess students’ needs and document progress
- Attend and actively participate in Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings
- Establish clear communication with teachers, staff, and parents to support each student’s therapy goals
- Design and update therapy plans tailored to individual student requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid Physical Therapist (PT) license or Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree
- Experience working with elementary and middle school populations is highly valued
- Background providing therapy in educational settings, with familiarity in IEP procedures
- Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
