About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years of RN experience in med/surg & PCU required License: RN license required Certifications: BLS and ACLS required Must-Have: Traveler will be required to pass a telemetry exam prior to assignment start. If first-time traveler, must have more than 5 years of experience as an RN. Description: Nights, 12-hour shifts from 18:30 to 07:00. Weekend rotation and every other holiday required. Standby call as needed. There will be occasional ICU and PCU patients on this unit. The RN will be required to care for all acuity types and ratios. The position requires managing patients with various diagnoses. A solid foundation in PCU is necessary for success in this blended unit. Staffing ratios will be 3-6 patients during day shifts and 6 at night. Charge experience is preferred. Travelers are required to float as needed. The role may include stand-by call responsibilities. Utilization of Bed Side Shift Reporting, AIDET, and hourly rounding is required. A telemetry exam will be necessary prior to starting. Pass/fail testing will have strict criteria. It requires the identification of lethal rhythms in adults and pediatric populations. The score must be 80% or higher for successful completion of the exam. Two attempts will be permitted for passing the exam. If unsuccessful after two attempts, further qualifications will be required. Failure to pass after three attempts will result in assignment cancellation.
