You Will Be As a Senior Accountant, you play a key role in supporting the company’s financial processes by preparing timely and accurate analysis and reconciliation of financial data, including in support of month-end close processes, internal and external reporting, and ad hoc requests from stakeholders. You contribute to daily accounting operations, ensuring compliance with established policies and maintaining a high level of accuracy. You assist in executing efficient month-end and year-end close processes to ensure deadlines are met, financial data is reliable, and variances to budgets/forecasts/prior periods are analyzed, explained and resolved, as needed. In this role, you also support audit activities by preparing documentation and responding to auditor requests. Additionally, you help produce high-quality financial reports and analysis. Your work provides valuable insights that support informed business decisions and overall financial health. What You Will Do Perform and review general ledger activities including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness Support month-end and year-end close processes to deliver timely and accurate financial reporting aligned with close deadlines Prepare financial schedules, variance analyses, and internal management reports with a focus on data accuracy and insight quality Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes to support financial planning and performance tracking against targets Create schedules and support internal reporting packages for finance and accounting leadership, ensuring accuracy, clarity and adherence to timelines Assist in the preparation of data used in quarterly and annual financial reporting, including footnote or support schedule preparation, performing compliance ratio calculations, or other items as needed Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures to support audit readiness and risk mitigation Support internal and external audits by providing timely documentation and clear explanations to meet audit deadlines and requirements Collaborate with cross-functional teams and identify process improvement opportunities, including automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy What You Will Bring Required Qualifications (Minimum Requirements) Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting 4-6 years of accounting experience in public accounting or industry (level to be determined based on experience) Strong knowledge of US GAAP, accounting principles, internal controls, and strong financial literacy Experience with general ledger and other financial systems and preparation of account reconciliations and analysis OracleEPM/Hyperion or similar financial data tool experience is a plus Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Workday, Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft) Strong communication and presentation skills Preferred Qualifications (nice to haves) Active CPA license or CPA candidacy Background in Big 4/public accounting or specific industries (e.g., retail, tech, manufacturing) Experience with tools like Oracle EPM, Hyperion, or advanced Excel skills Familiarity with SOX compliance or other regulatory frameworks Strong analytical thinking, communication, and ability to work cross-functionally Exposure to automation or process optimization initiatives Your Life and Career at Saks Global Opportunity to work in a dynamic fast paced environment at a company experiencing growth and transformation.
