This role is ideal for a senior technical professional who combines deep expertise in water modeling and treatment plant design with a strong ability to develop client relationships and win work.You will play a key role in leading and delivering complex municipal water infrastructure projects while actively supporting business development, proposal leadership, and client engagement across the Gulf Coast and broader U.S. market. Projects will include water treatment plants, pumping and conveyance systems, hydraulic modeling, and resiliency-focused infrastructure.Responsibilities will include:Leading and delivering planning, design, and construction-phase services for municipal water infrastructure projects, with emphasis on water distribution modeling and water treatment plant designServing as a technical lead and project manager on multi-disciplinary water projects of moderate to high complexityActing as a Doer/Seller, supporting business development through:Client relationship managementOpportunity identification and pursuit strategyProposal preparation and technical interviewsPerforming and overseeing hydraulic and water quality modeling for distribution systems and treatment processesLeading the development and review of:Technical memoranda and reportsDesign drawings and specificationsBasis of design documentsEngineer’s opinions of probable construction costProviding technical oversight for process design including conventional and advanced water treatment technologiesReviewing and approving engineering calculations and model results prepared by junior staffCoordinating with internal disciplines, subconsultants, utilities, and regulatory agenciesSupporting construction administration activities including submittal review, RFIs, and field observationsMentoring and developing junior and mid-level engineersSupporting field investigations, condition assessments, and data collection effortsWe invite applications from candidates with the following experience:B.S. degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering (M.S. preferred)Licensed Professional Engineer (PE); ability to obtain Louisiana PE if not currently licensed10+ years of progressive experience in municipal water engineeringDemonstrated expertise in:Water distribution system modelingWater treatment plant planning and designStrong experience delivering projects through planning, design, and constructionProven Doer/Seller capability with experience supporting or leading:Client engagementProposal developmentBusiness development activitiesExperience mentoring engineers and leading technical teamsStrong written and verbal communication skills, including client-facing presentationsProficiency with industry-standard software such as:WaterGEMS, WaterCAD, InfoWaterAutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStationExcel-based engineering toolsKnowledge of Gulf Coast or Southeast U.S. utility clients and regulatory environments is a plusBenefits & RewardAt Mott MacDonald, our employees have a stake and a voice in our business, providing them with a direct connection to our success through our personal and group performance bonuses.
