Data Center Project Manager, Critical Projects Implementation

Job Overview AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. The team supports all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. Responsibilities The Data Center Project Manager serves as a technical resource within Amazon data centers, overseeing project oversight and review of all disciplines including electrical, mechanical, controls, and architectural. The role is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects, ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments, and goals. Project Manager works on critical infrastructure improvement projects optimizing utilization of space, power, and cooling within operational data centers worldwide. The scope includes improvement of electrical, mechanical, fire detection, and building automation systems. Qualifications 5+ years of construction or project management experience 5+ years experience managing projects in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure in an operational space (example: 24/7 emergency backup, manufacturing facility, mass transportation, oil & gas, utility, hospitals) 5+ years in on-site construction trades (mechanical, electrical, general) vendor management Bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, construction management or similar technical focus (preferred) 5+ years of electrical or mechanical, or 5+ years of data center engineering experience (preferred) Ability to work proactively and independently, meet deadlines, and deliver on projects and tasks Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage trade-offs, incorporate feedback, and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with stakeholders Benefits The base salary range for this position is 111,300.00‑186,100.00 USD annually for USA, VA (Sterling).
