Work Environment\n

This role operates within an outpatient office setting, primarily working remotely to provide mental health services to students. The hours for this position are typically Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with some evening and weekend shifts potentially required based on the dynamic needs of the school. While the position is remote, you will be an integral part of a cohesive team that engages in frequent virtual meetings and collaborations to discuss student cases and share insights.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for students that take into account their individual history, current concerns, and risk factors.

• Develop and implement tailored treatment plans collaboratively with students, focusing on fostering emotional well-being and resilience.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and trauma-focused therapy in individual and group therapy sessions.

• Facilitate therapy sessions to enable students’ personal growth, emotional regulation, and development of coping strategies.

• Coordinate with a team of mental health professionals, including psychiatrists and psychologists, to provide comprehensive, multi-faceted care.

• Provide crisis intervention support for students in mental health emergencies, using de-escalation techniques and making referrals to higher levels of care when necessary.

• Educate students and their families on mental health issues, treatment options, and available community resources to promote informed decision-making.
\n
• Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and other essential records, in adherence to legal and ethical requirements.

• Engage in multidisciplinary meetings and case conferences to promote collaboration and professional development among staff.
\n
• Stay informed about current laws, regulations, and ethical standards relating to mental health practice, particularly within school environments.

Qualifications\n

• Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.

• Valid and current LCSW license in the state of Virginia.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience, ideally within educational or mental health settings.

Compensation and Benefits\n
