I&E Technician

Air Liquide is hiring an I&E Technician in Bayport, TX. The role focuses on day‑to‑day maintenance and reliable operation of equipment, instrumentation, analyzers, and electrical systems. Responsibilities Technical & Instrumentation Expertise – Handle advanced analyzer technologies such as Gas Chromatographs, spectrometers, pH/conductivity meters, oxygen detectors, and continuous emission monitors (CEMs). Sample Handling Systems – Design, troubleshoot, and maintain sample conditioning equipment (tubing, valves, pumps, filters) that delivers representative samples to analyzers. Calibration & Testing – Use precise calibration tools and standards to certify accurate, repeatable measurements. Root‑Cause Analysis – Identify analyzer failure causes quickly and implement corrective actions. Signal Analysis – Interpret peak integration, gating techniques, and spectral data (e.g., IR/UV absorption) to diagnose instrument drift or faults. Process Automation – Work with DCS and SCADA networks; understand industrial protocols such as HART and Modbus. Industrial Wiring & Piping Diagrams – Read P&IDs and electrical schematics. Safety & Regulatory Compliance – Follow safety protocols for hazardous environments; know EPA and OSHA safety standards. Cross‑Functional Collaboration – Communicate with control room operators, plant engineers, and mechanics. Documentation – Maintain equipment logs, calibration records, and ISO‑compliant documentation. Qualifications Minimum high school diploma or equivalent. Valid U.S. employment authorization, no visa sponsorship required. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Highly organized with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Preferred: Knowledge of a computerized maintenance management system. Preferred: Ability to maintain, repair, and calibrate analyzers, transmitters, control valves, etc. Preferred: Understanding of facility control systems; ability to develop detailed understanding. Preferred: Understanding of MCC/switchgear operation and safety. Preferred: Forklift and machinery operation; 2‑year technical degree. Preferred: Minimum 6 years I&E experience in a plant environment.
