Legal Billing Specialist

Green Key Resources is proud to partner with a number of leading and prominent law firms in the industry located in New York City and New Jersey . These roles require industry experience (must be out of legal) and system knowledge with Aderant, Elite, 3E or any comparable legal billing platform. Resumes without this experience will not be considered. These positions are responsible for the full billing cycle as well as managing a portfolio of receivables to ensure timely client payments. The ideal candidate will have experience in a law firm or professional services environment, possess excellent analytical, communication, and client service skills, and be comfortable working independently in a deadline-driven setting. Key Responsibilities: Manage the end-to-end client billing process, including proforma review, narrative edits, task code application, and LEDES file creation. Review matter setups to ensure accuracy of billing rates, task codes, and compliance with client guidelines. Submit eBills using various electronic billing platforms; resolve rejections and ensure follow-through until payment is received. Collaborate with attorneys, assistants, and clients to address billing-related questions and changes. Provide clients and internal stakeholders with billing forecasts, budgets, and ad hoc reporting as requested. Serve as the primary point of contact for billing issues for assigned attorneys and clients. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required , preferably in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a law firm or professional services environment handling both billing and collections. Strong working knowledge of Aderant, Elite, or 3E billing and financial systems; experience with eBilling platforms is highly preferred. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Microsoft Word. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines with minimal supervision. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; confident interacting with attorneys, clients, and senior leadership.
