Overview Position Summary: As a Meat Department Lead you will drive sales in your area and supervise your team of hourly associates to deliver to our members more of what they love, for less. You will model expertise in Meat and work collaboratively with other team leaders to ensure the total club meets the member’s expectations. Responsibilities Be a Team Leader: supervise the team within the meat department to deliver on the business plan and contribute to the overall success of the club by communicating goals, executing company programs, adhering to policies, and advocating for the member, the associate, and the company; work collaboratively with other team leaders to ensure the total club meets members\' expectations. Be an Expert: maintain in-depth knowledge of business on the floor and backroom operations, product updates, and product specifications; ensure the meat department meets company and regulatory standards for quality, inventory, production, equipment usage, safety, sanitation, and compliance; share knowledge and prioritize training so the team understands item specifications and uses approved equipment for high-volume products; engage with members to help them choose the right protein. Be a Techie: leverage digital tools to plan for and drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement; use handheld technology to make decisions related to production, training, and product quality; adopt new tools and encourage others to use them. Be an Owner: drive business results with a commitment to operational excellence; maintain a neat, clean, and safe work area in the meat department; utilize digital tools for forecasting, planning, and production; facilitate inventory and ordering; ensure appropriate staffing levels and accurate audit/compliance standards; ensure meat and seafood equipment and storage systems are in working order; produce and display merchandise according to the layout plan. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications 6 months experience in a meat production department or 6 months experience supervising a team. Must be 18 years of age or older. I acknowledge that the position requires successful completion of all required trainings and assessments. The position may require meeting paid time-off laws where applicable. Preferred Qualifications Meat processing (boneless and bone-in products); supervising associates; Food Handler Certification (Food Safety).
