Role Description The Human Resources Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in San Diego, CA, responsible for leading HR operations and supporting a growing, science-driven organization. Day-to-day tasks include overseeing recruitment and onboarding, managing employee relations, administering compensation and benefits, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations. The Human Resources Manager will develop and implement HR policies and procedures, support performance management processes, and coordinate training and development initiatives. This role will partner closely with leadership and staff to foster an inclusive, high-performance culture aligned with CAT’s mission and values. Qualifications Demonstrated experience in core HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and HR policy administration. Knowledge of employment law, compliance requirements, and best practices in workplace safety, equity, and inclusion. Strong communication, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust across diverse teams and levels of the organization. Experience with HRIS and related HR tools, along with solid organizational and problem-solving skills. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, or a related field; HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is an asset. Prior experience in biotechnology, life sciences, agriculture, or a technical research environment is beneficial.
