About the Position

License: Must possess a valid nursing license. Certifications: BLS, NIHSS required. Must-Have: - Charting experience with Epic. - Travel experience preferred. - Ability to manage patient ratios of 1:6. Description: This position is for a registered nurse in the medical-surgical specialty. The shift will be three 12-hour days each week. The unit serves a diverse patient population ranging from young adults to geriatrics. Nurses will be responsible for providing care to patients with various medical needs. Telemetry capabilities are available within the unit. A maximum patient census of 20 patients is possible. Support services available include physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Nurses must have experience with managing medications, monitoring vital signs, and providing patient education. Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team are essential. The environment requires adherence to infection control protocols and safety measures. Nurses will be expected to participate in patient care planning and execution. Flexibility to work half of scheduled shifts on weekends is required. Additional patient-related tasks may include wound care, IV management, and interpretation of dysrhythmias. Skills in central line management and familiarity with telemetry monitoring are important.
