Registered Nurse Outpatient Orthopedics (Hand)

Job Description

Part-time and full-time roles are eligible for a $30,000 sign-on bonus (available through 9/30/2026). This position is also referral eligible.

RN will travel 1-2 days per week to support surgeon in clinic at the Carmel office.

Core Office Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30PM. No weekends, no holidays, no call.

Casting experience is a plus, but not a requirement for the position.

Responsibilities:

• Phone triage, pool management (e.g. pre-op/post-op phone calls), and referral management
• Complete FMLA and Short-Term Disability paperwork
• Assist with clinic flow orders, in-office procedures (e.g. injections, DME forms, suture/staple removal, cast removal), appointment scheduling, and rooming patients
• Patient education and care coordination
• Surgery scheduling, cardiac clearances, and documentation
• Assist with prior authorizations for surgeries/procedures
• Collaborate with Pre-Services department, PAT clinic, ASC/OR staff, and Physician
• Support other clinics as needed

Requirements:

• Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
• Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. Exceptions: Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of relevant clinical experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
• May require ability to assess patients without face-to-face interaction.
• Requires awareness and understanding of legal implications of patient care activities and performance as a Registered Nurse.
