Client Manager - Group Benefits

Job Summary Responsible for providing external support to clients for an assigned book of business, giving internal direction to the client management support team, and collaborating with internal resources as needed to ensure clients’ needs are satisfied. Retains existing business and oversees the up‑selling and cross‑selling of Oswald products and services across all market segments. Responsibilities Serve as the key service contact to identify, design, communicate and implement cost‑effective benefit solutions that minimize risk. Respond to requests for assistance in a timely and collaborative manner, working closely with client contacts at HR leadership and CFO levels. Onboard new clients, obtaining historical and current information for the building and cataloging of client files in internal systems, ensuring accuracy of all data and capturing commissions. Execute support team activities to meet clients’ specific needs, including creation of the annual service calendar, scheduling meetings and agendas, and delivering other deliverables by established deadlines. Maintain online records accurate at renewal and final information points, ensuring continuous updates for accepted lines of coverage. Collaborate with the service team on preparation and peer review of all client deliverables, presenting to the Client Executive for final approval. Conduct open enrollment meetings and ensure deliverables such as pre‑renewal projections, market evaluations, pricing summaries, renewal materials, compliance notifications, wellness information, and utilization reviews are accurate. Prepare and secure commission agreements with carriers or Oswald fee agreements, monitoring timely receipt of commission receivables. Capture meeting notes and activities, providing information to support staff and ensuring clear action items with responsible parties and timelines. Support the strategic planning process, collaborating with the Client Executive to develop and monitor a long‑term health management strategy customized to client needs. Develop implementation timelines and plans, leading small teams to deliver timely client deliverables. Initiate renewal negotiations on behalf of clients in collaboration with the Client Executive and create pre‑renewal and renewal presentations. Direct the service team in developing client‑specific enrollment portals and train support staff on key operational activities. Guide clients through regulatory requirements (Healthcare Reform, HIPAA, COBRA, ACA) and ensure compliance with ACA affordability, minimum coverage, and preventive care guidelines. Qualifications College degree is an advantage (not required). Life, Health & Accident license required. 3–5 years of industry knowledge, including experience in medical benefits and ancillary lines of coverage. Strong tactical skill set with a general understanding of technical concepts (self‑funding, carrier solutions, etc.). Strong relationship skills and ability to execute independently (self‑starter). Intuitive escalation of issues to leadership and oversight of CSA’s. Project management skills to deliver results on time with internal and external partners.
