Employee Relations Specialist

Job Description
Primary responsibilities include:
•Effectively communicate with management to provide direction and guidance on complex employment issues including disciplinary actions, behavior and conduct issues, terminations, leave administration, workplace conflict and other HR related issues.
•Partner with Labor and Employment to manage union grievances, disputes, employee issues and concerns.
•Manages internal employment investigations process; works with senior leadership to facilitate investigations and actively participate when necessary.
•Provides support to Senior HR leadership, and management staff on employment matters.
•Assists management in preparing performance management and formal disciplinary actions. Ensuring official documentation is properly maintained to support recommended employment actions.
•Consult with management in developing employee performance improvement plans. Partner with management to ensure proper policies and procedures are followed when preparing notices related to employee counseling and disciplinary action.
•Assist in developing and implementing personnel policies and procedures, preparing and maintaining employment handbook updates on policies and procedures.
•Research employment laws to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
