SUPERVISING SPECIAL INVESTIGATOR II (NON-PEACE OFFICER)

Program Manager – Supervising Special Investigator II (Non‑Peace Officer) Under the direction of the Supervising Special Investigator II, Peace Officer (Deputy Chief of Enforcement), the Supervising Special Investigator II [(Non‑Peace Officer) SSI II (Non‑P/O)] oversees, plans, organizes, directs, and supervises the work of the Southern Investigation Centers (IC). These centers are responsible for field investigations of construction‑related complaints for the Enforcement division. The position requires regular travel to Southern IC field offices to provide support, oversight, and guidance to investigative staff, ensuring consistent enforcement practices and addressing operational needs on site. Salaries: $8,709.00 – $11,370.00 per month (minimum entry for new-to-state candidates). Location: CSLB Investigative Center in San Diego or Norwalk office. Working Conditions Applicants must reside in California after hiring. The position may require travel to field offices within Southern California. Minimum Requirements Apply to the Supervising Special Investigator II (Non‑Peace Officer) classification. Minimum salary range as listed. Valid driver’s license (DL) and participation in DMV’s Employer Pull Notice Program (EPN). Submit a Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700) annually and within 30 days of assuming or leaving office. Medical clearance required prior to hiring. Compliance with COI regulations, California Business Professions Code Section 154.3, and fingerprint submission requirements. Desirable Qualifications Knowledge and experience in: Investigation techniques and procedures; directing others in investigatory work. Rules of evidence and court procedures; principles of evidence presentation. Law enforcement duties, including arrest, search and seizure, and service of legal process.
