Territory Sales Manager (Morristown/Newark, NJ area) - National General

National General is part of The Allstate Corporation offering home, auto, accident, and health insurance through a network of independent agents and direct consumers. Job Title Territory Sales Manager Key Responsibilities Consistently exceed agreed upon new business production, direct written premium, and loss ratio goals on an annual basis. Manage independent agents in an assigned market to increase company market share and drive profitable growth. Position and promote the full suite of National General Insurance products to Independent Agency Partners including personal auto, homeowners, commercial vehicle, flood, recreational vehicle, and household package coverages. Develop and maintain the assigned market’s new agency appointment pipeline and support National Accounts & Alternative Distribution initiatives. Consult with Independent Agents, providing knowledge of the channel, competitors, major brokers, and national industry associations to promote National General products and identify market enhancements. Deliver on the business unit’s annual execution plan (growth, profitability, agency engagement, new appointments) with focus on HH package coverages. Use production data and reporting to identify trends, capitalize on opportunity, and address agency level performance with training/skill gap initiatives. Collaborate with Independent Agents to create agency-specific short-term and long-term strategic business plans and suggest adjustments as needed. Work with Product, Pricing, and Operations teams to perform stakeholder and risk analysis on market-related issues. Increase quote and issuance flow of the assigned market beyond rate and underwriting trends. Act as liaison within the market to independent agencies and industry associations; be field-facing 4 days per week, maintaining accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and follow-ups in CRM. Qualifications Preferred: 4-year Bachelor’s Degree. Preferred: 5 or more years of relevant experience. Must be located in the Newark, NJ area. No supervisory duties.
