Position Title: Payroll Systems Analyst / Dayforce Consultant

Overview

Client is seeking a temporary Payroll Systems Analyst/Payroll Consultant to support its ongoing Dayforce implementation . The primary objective is to alleviate bottlenecks on the payroll team by bringing in someone who already understands government payroll operations and knows the Dayforce system

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Experience with government payroll, preferably within California public sector organizations.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Dayforce Payroll.
• Background in payroll operations, payroll accounting, and ERP systems.
• Ability to understand payroll processes, compliance requirements, and regulatory considerations.
• Familiarity with payroll-related accounting transactions and downstream financial impacts.
• Experience supporting payroll system implementations, configurations, and process optimization initiatives.

Current Environment

• Client is transitioning from an existing Infor platform to Dayforce .
• Internal payroll staff are experts on the current system and day-to-day payroll operations.
• The implementation team is looking for someone who can work independently and minimize the time required from payroll subject matter experts.
• The consultant will help tackle a significant backlog of implementation and configuration tasks, reducing the number of interruptions and meetings required from payroll staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Support day to day payroll operations and serve as a liaison between the payroll team and the Dayforce implementation team.
• Leverage government payroll expertise to validate payroll processes, business requirements, and compliance considerations throughout the implementation.
• Review, analyze, and document payroll workflows, earning codes, deductions, taxes, and related payroll rules.
• Assist with payroll testing, validation, reconciliation, and issue resolution during system implementation and conversion activities.
• Analyze payroll data and payroll accounting transactions to ensure accurate processing and reporting.
• Help prioritize and work through a backlog of payroll-related implementation tasks, reducing the burden on internal payroll staff.

Reporting Structure

• Will be aligned with and primarily support the PMO team .
• Day-to-day interaction will be with the PMO Manager .
• The engagement is intended to supplement the existing team with specialized Dayforce and payroll expertise.
