A mid-sized hospital in New York City seeks an experienced pharmacist to fill a vital role during night shifts. This contract position offers an immediate start and lasts for approximately 13 weeks. The pharmacist will support the hospital’s pharmacy operations by providing expert clinical services during nighttime hours.
Key responsibilities include:
- Verifying medication orders for accuracy and safety
- Supervising pharmacy technicians and coordinating workflow
- Applying pharmacokinetic principles to optimize medication therapy
- Consulting and collaborating with physicians and nursing staff
- Utilizing EPIC electronic health records and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
Ideal candidates will possess:
- A valid New York State pharmacist license
- Prior hospital pharmacy experience, with comfort working night shifts
- Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records is highly desirable
